Azita Arvani has spent over two decades in senior-level assignments involving both Fortune 500 and start-up companies across the globe. Prior to founding Arvani Group, she served as Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at ActiveSky, an innovative developer of interactive rich media and video technologies for mobile applications based in Silicon Valley. There, she led the creation of commercial and product development relationships with content providers, content services providers, micro-browser vendors, wireless infrastructure companies, mobile carriers, and handheld device manufacturers, including the Cartoon Network, Sprint, Casio, Openwave, KDDI, and Nokia. She also played a key role in generating $22 million in Series B funding.

Azita has previously held positions with Xerox Corporation. As Director of Corporate Business Strategy in Palo Alto, CA, she focused the marketing and business development of the spin-off that became ContentGuard, an enabler of digital rights management for web-distributed content. She also served as Director of Corporate Business Strategy at company headquarters in Stamford, CT, where she was a consultant to the CEO and his senior team on planning and implementing corporate initiatives. She led the corporate initiative to develop a market-centric architecture for future-generation printing solutions and created a new business strategy for the Kinko’s account (annual revenues of $200M+).

Azita was one of a select few in the company to become the Technical Assistant to Xerox’s Senior Vice President of Research and Development. She helped manage research centers, including Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) and others throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. She also served as the focus executive contact for the Procter and Gamble global account team.

Her other positions at Xerox included Manager of Xerox Systems Software Group and Project Manager at Xerox Electronics Division where she participated in development of several database, network communications, and document management systems.

Azita also served as Acting Vice President of Marketing for Altimum.com, a provider of online digital printing services to mobile professionals.

Azita Arvani has been a speaker/moderator at a number of conferences and trade shows. She has also been interviewed and quoted as an industry expert by numerous trade and business publications.

Azita holds an MS in Management from Stanford University (Sloan program), an MS in Computer Science (Honors) from the University of Southern California and a BS in Math/Computer Science (Magna cum Laude) from UCLA.

It was during her time at Xerox that Azita realized there were plenty of great technologies that never got a chance to change the world because Xerox couldn’t find a way to turn them into a good business. She got fascinated by commercializing disruptive technologies and spent the next part of her tenure at Xerox focusing on that. She eventually decided she wanted to help other companies commercialize their cutting-edge technologies, which led to her forming Arvani Group.
