CTIA Enterprise & Applications
October 2010
San Francisco, CA
We attended the CTIA Enterprise and Applications show in San Francisco, Oct 5-8th. This smaller of the two CTIA annual shows focused primarily on enterprise mobility, and attracted 14,000 industry execs.
Businesses are embracing mobility as more employees bring their smartphones and tablets to use at work. IT staff is faced with several challenges trying to balance allowing mobile device choices for the users with ensuring security, manageability, reliability, and support of the diverse device platforms.
Verizon announced their LTE roll-out plans for this year. No official word on iPhone for Verizon network, but we speculate it is coming and will support LTE. Many Android devices were released by Motorola, Samsung, LG, and others.
We led the mHealth Device panel discussing the latest in opportunities and challenges. mHealth was a big topic at the show, demanding its dedicated CTIA educational track, along with a day of Everywhere Health partner event. Overall, Machine to Machine services are growing with top three USoperators opening M2M centers to develop and deploy these services.
Congrats to CTIA Hot for Holidays award winners. We were pleased to serve as a CTIA Hot for Holidays judge.
